This past weekend, our friends at Pixologic took over Gnomon’s Hollywood campus for ZBrush Summit: three days of presentations, demonstrations, networking, and art. Industry luminaries spoke on their workflow and use cases, ZBrush users mixed and mingled with the Pixologic team and talent from their favorite video game and movie studios, and artists were recognized for their contributions to digital sculpting and the ZBrush community—including Gnomon’s Founder and President, Alex Alvarez.
On Saturday night, Alex Alvarez was presented with the prestigious ZBrushCentral Honorary Award for his dedication to empowering the digital arts industry through education and his constant pursuit for excellence in art; two of the main tenets that have made Gnomon the world-renown school it is today. With this award, Alex joins the ranks of fellow visionaries including Weta Workshop founder Richard Taylor and legendary creature and concept designers Neville Page and Rick Baker, recognizing his contributions to digital sculpting and the entertainment industry as a whole.
Please join us in congratulating Alex, not just as the founder and mastermind behind Gnomon, but as an inspiring artist, guiding mentor, and friend to community. You can watch Alex’s acceptance speech below and send your own words of congrats to him over on Instagram.
