Gnomon School of Visual Effects is now authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students into its Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Production program. Gnomon offers full-time degree and certificate programs in Digital Production to students interested in studying digital arts, animation, and visual effects for careers in the entertainment industry.
Labeled, "the MIT of visual effects" by Fast Company magazine, Gnomon was founded in 1997 by industry veteran Alex Alvarez, and for the last two decades, has educated many of the world's best digital artists. Graduates have gone on to enjoy successful careers at the likes of Industrial Light and Magic on the Star Wars franchise, Blizzard Entertainment on World of Warcraft and Overwatch titles, and on multiple blockbuster features at Walt Disney Animation Studios. The highly competitive school has won numerous 'School of The Year' awards at the CG Student Awards and The Rookies and was awarded a 'School of Excellence' Award at the 9th Annual ACCSC Professional Development Conference.

Gnomon’s full-time educational and vocational programs are taught on the school’s Hollywood campus, located in the heart of California’s entertainment industry. With state-of-the-art labs and studios, students receive first-rate instruction from the industry’s top working professionals in a production-like environment. Students are also offered opportunities to participate in industry related events, including studio presentations, “making of” events, user group meetings, gallery shows, and more.
