Prepare yourself for an exciting take on anatomy unlike anything you’ve seen before! Gnomon proudly presents Anatomy Lab: The Art and Design of Quadrupeds on Saturday, August 11th. Starting at noon (PDT), we’ll be exploring canine anatomy from the inside out, so come sharpen your observational skills and learn how to apply scientific principles to any creative project. Our outstanding panelists include an award-winning taxidermist, a professional animal handler, and world-renowned professional artists who will cover disciplines such as life drawing, sculpting, and traditional animation.
Sessions include a live animal sketching demonstration and workshop, discussions on animal anatomy in relation to taxidermy and 3D printing; tips and tricks for animating animal gaits; and an in-depth look at canine limb anatomy, concluding with a live sculpting demo incorporating it into an artistic workflow. Bring a sketchbook and an inquisitive mind and get ready for an unforgettable afternoon!

Andrea AdamsGnomon Instructor
Andrea Adams boasts an extensive background in many
different aspects of visual arts, from theatre set construction to corporate
illustration. Her experiences in independent film and television include
storyboarding, conceptual illustration, production design, and costume design.
She is also an instructor at Gnomon in Hollywood where she teaches
Character Development, Visual
Structure, and Animal Drawing classes.
Mollie HoganExecutive Director at The Nature of Wildworks
After raising and training a wide variety of cats for the
Los Angeles Zoo’s cat show ‘Wild in the City,’ in 1993, Mollie founded the
Nature of Wildworks Wildlife Center in Topanga Canyon. The organization
provides lifelong care for 50 non-releasable wild animals – encompassing 17 different
species – that participate with staff and volunteers in programs for both
children and adults.
Nathan LooyengaOwner, Kapow! 3D
Nathan Looyenga started Kapow! 3D in 2015 after having worked in the engineering field. Kapow! 3D has helped many across the City of Los Angeles, from entrepreneurs and artists to major entertainment corporations, realize their creative visions in rapid prototyping. They believe 3D printing and the processes they employ to be revolutionary in helping makers and designers more beautifully realize their visions.
Stephen CunnaneCharacter Animator, Rhythm & Hues
Stephen Cunnane is a professional animator for Rhythm & Hues Studios and an alumni of Gnomon School of Visual Effects’ Digital Production program, where he studied Character and Creature animation. Stephen is an award-winning filmmaker of multiple animated short films and his credits include Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and Lost in Space.
Krystal Sae EuaLead Character/Creature Artist
Trained as a 3D generalist and a graduate of the Gnomon School’s High-End CG Certificate program, Krystal now focuses her talents on character/creature modeling and texturing at Blur Studios. With more than 10 years of VFX industry experience, she has contributed to blockbuster projects including Avatar, The Avengers, 2012, Fast and Furious 6, the Call of Duty: Ghosts cinematic trailer and the Game of War ad campaign.
