This week, Chief Creative Officer Josh Herman welcomes Jared Krivchevsy to a brand new episode of Art Jam. As a creature and character artist, Jared has worked on major film and television projects over the years including IT, Stranger Things, and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. During this stream, he will discuss some of his personal projects and demonstrate dynamic character and FX sculpting in digital clay using ZBrush and Keyshot. Jared is a character and creature designer working in the visual effects industry. and has worked on characters for the big and small screen including Jiminy Cricket on ABC’S Once Upon a Time(2011), The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014-2016), Horus and Set in God’s of Egypt (2014), Elliot the Dragon in Pete’s Dragon(2016), The Crooked Man in James Wan’s Conjuring 2 (2016), Dart in Stranger Things 2 (2017), and Pennywise the Clown in the horror film IT (2017). Jared’s exciting upcoming projects include Guillermo Del Toro and Scott Cooper’s Antlers (2019) and Godzilla Vs King Kong (2020) and Black Adam (2022).
Josh comes to Gnomon with a decade of experience in film, television, and games. As an alumnus of Gnomon’s Certificate in Digital Production Program he has worked as a Creative Director, Art Director, and Character Designer for prestigious studios such as Marvel Studios, Naughty Dog, Legacy Effects and Cloud Imperium Games. Josh loves to “pay it forward” by teaching classes and workshops where he can help continue the education of others so they can find their passions like he did, at Gnomon. Josh is a graduate of Westwood College and has a Bachelor of Science in Animation.
Josh continues to work on personal projects exploring ideas for films, graphic novels, and tabletop games. Some of his professional projects include The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: Ragnarok, Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception, and Star Citizen.
