Join us Friday, April 9th for an exclusive live Blender demo with Jason Michael Hall!
Are you interested in bringing your drawings to life? Some of the amazing 2D animations being made today utilize 3D software, and we want to give you the chance to explore one that a lot of artists use for free. Tune in to this livestream with digital artist and Gnomon alumni, Jason Hall, as he shows us how he is using Blender to create his own original animation. Blender is a free 3D software that allows Jason to create animation that would otherwise require a whole team of people. During this livestream, viewers will get an exclusive look at his latest projects and a comprehensive breakdown of what it was like to make them. Be sure to RSVP and stick around for the entire stream to be able to ask Jason questions in real-time!
Immediately after this interview, our host, Adam Hartel, will be sharing a brief informational session about art careers in the entertainment industry and how Gnomon is training artists for those careers.
Events with closed captioning are available via Gnomon Facebook Page.
Gnomon's full-time programs and 10-week individual courses are designed to develop well-rounded artists that are skilled in the diverse disciplines within 3D production. For those outside of the US, virtual classroom-style online courses are also available.
Jason arrived in Los Angeles in 2006, having been accepted to Gnomon for the 21-month Certificate Program. With a plan to change his career path and get involved in Visual Effects for the Film Industry, Gnomon gave him a solid foundation as a CG Generalist which has led to a successful 14-year career in Film and Animation primarily in Pre-Visualization and Layout.
During that time, he has been creating amazing action sequences on many of the top big-budget Visual Effects films of the last decade including JJ Abram’s Star Trek, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Spongebob Squarepants, Sonic the Hedgehog, X-Men and Deadpool. While primarily working in Pre-Viz, he’s also contributed in areas like concept design, storyboarding, animatics, and other pre-production needs like Motion Tests, Postviz, Pitchviz, and VR media.
His latest move brought him to the games industry when he joined the
incredibly talented Blizzard Cinematics Team in early 2020. He’s currently
living in the Echo Park neighborhood in Los Angeles with his wife Nicky as he
spends the majority of his free time looking for new Korean food spots and
obsessing over Blender and the freedom it has provided to bring all his
original ideas to life. He is currently working on his first animated short
called The Last Secret
Agent Man due out later in 2021.
