Join us Thursday, February 25th for a panel presentation from Iron Galaxy. The game studio’s recruitment and art direction team will discuss tips and tricks to level up your artwork, portfolio submissions, and explain what the hiring process has looked like during a global pandemic. Iron Galaxy has shipped over 60 titles (including Overwatch, Fallout 76, and Diablo III) on 10+ platforms since its founding in 2008. Art Director Roger Yuen, Studio Art Director Chad Newhouse, and Hiring & Recruiting Manager Tom Carbone will walk viewers through what it's like to submit a portfolio, inside tips on how to make your work stand out, and the kind of work artists can create at their studio.
Events with closed captioning are available via the Gnomon Facebook Live page.
Gnomon's full-time programs and 10-week individual courses are designed to develop well-rounded artists that are skilled in the diverse disciplines within 3D production. For those outside of the US, virtual classroom-style online courses are also available.
Roger Yuen has been an Art Director at Iron Galaxy Studios for a little under a year. Before his time at Iron Galaxy, Roger had the privilege to work with many great teams in unique industries at places like Electronic Arts, SG Interactive and Robomodo. Though his career started in art creation, it then grew into team building and management. At Iron Galaxy, Roger is responsible for game art direction, artist mentorship, and setting studio art quality bars.
Chad Newhouse has been the Studio Art Director at Iron Galaxy Studios for more than 10 years. Chad is responsible for crafting the creative art direction and artistic vision on projects at Iron Galaxy. Chad brings over twenty years of experience in the game industry to Iron Galaxy, where he oversees art direction, project management, internal teams, and its outsourcing partners. Prior to Iron Galaxy, Chad served as V.P. Creative at Blue Shift Interactive; Art Director at 3DO; and EAI. His unique combination of leadership experience, artistic skill, and technical abilities make him an ideal member of the Iron Galaxy team.
Tom has been at Iron Galaxy since 2016, and in his time at the company, he has focused primarily on Hiring, Recruiting, Recruitment Branding, and Social Media. As the company grew over the past few years, Tom’s day-to-day administrative hiring work has been replaced by longer term recruitment, web content and candidate pipeline projects for the studio. As part of his recruiting duties, Tom leads Iron Galaxy’s University Outreach efforts, and is the main point of contact for any student looking to get their foot in the door at the studio.
