Ryan Meinerding
Head of Visual Development
Ryan joined Marvel Studios in the early days of Iron Man and has shaped the look and feel of the Marvel Cinematic Universe from the beginning. He was integral to the visual development of such projects as The Avengers, the Iron Man trilogy, Captain America trilogy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, the Spider-Man: Homecoming trilogy, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If...?, Eternals, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and many more. He has held the role of Head of Visual Development since Iron Man 3. Meinerding studied industrial design at Notre Dame and illustration at the Art Center College of Design.

John Staub
Senior Concept Illustrator
John has held a variety of positions ranging from concept artist to art director, working on everything from feature films to video games and statue design. His clients include Marvel Studios, Lionsgate, Sideshow Collectibles, Intel, Sony, and Gaumont. His credits include Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Loki, The Falcon and Winter Soldier, Deadpool & Wolverine, Thunderbolts*, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and many more. John also teaches an array of subject matter from painting, character design and keyframe illustration.

Ji Hye Lee
Senior Concept Illustrator
Ji Hye has over ten years of experience in various AAA video game and feature film projects. Currently working with the Visual Development department at Marvel Studios, she is responsible for creating visually compelling costume designs and keyframe illustrations. Throughout her career, Ji Hye has contributed to AAA projects for various clients such as Naughty Dog, Blur Inc., Activision Blizzard and others. Her project credits at Marvel Studios include Deadpool & Wolverine, Agatha All Along, Thunderbolts*, and Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Joshua James Shaw
Senior Concept Illustrator
Joshua is a visual development artist from Erie, PA. After attending the Columbus College of Art Design, he studied figure drawing with notable artists Jeff Watts, Erik Gist, and Kevin Chen. In addition to his Marvel Studios duties, Joshua instructs at the Concept Design Academy in Pasadena, teaching character and costume design, and runs the art education podcast "DiSPEL". Joshua's most notable design contribution is the Deadpool costume, which is featured in the 2016 film and well-seen 2011 CG test footage. Shaw has also designed Wolverine in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Holly Myer
Visual Development Manager (Panel Moderator)
Holly manages daily operations of the VisDev team, supporting the artists in their creative process. She studied film, TV, and animation at NYU, then moved to LA to pursue a career in production and development. She has worked behind the scenes at Hollywood studios for over 15 years, including NBC Universal, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks, The Jim Henson Company, and Marvel.
