Join us on Thursday, November 6th at the Dell Stage on Gnomon’s campus to learn about real-time VFX as JangaFX and Undertone FX artists share live EmberGen demos, workflows, and insights from projects across the VFX and game industries.
This event will feature presentations from two seasoned visual effects professionals: Jason Key, Principal VFX Artist and Evangelist at JangaFX, and David Johnson, Founder and Creative Director of Undertone FX.
Throughout the evening, Jason and David will discuss the foundations of real-time VFX creation, showcasing EmberGen’s simulation tools used across film, games, and interactive media. There will be a mix of hands-on demos, case studies from studio projects, and previews of upcoming developments from JangaFX.
From the fundamentals of flipbooks and in-engine workflows to a detailed look at how Undertone VFX integrates EmberGen into AAA game pipelines, the event will highlight how real-time VFX is reshaping production workflows across the industry.

Jason Key
Principal VFX Artist
Jason Key is a Principal VFX Artist and Evangelist at JangaFX with over three decades of experience in 3D computer graphics for film, games, and advertising. A member of the Visual Effects Society, his work spans FX, lighting, and compositing for some of the most visually striking productions in entertainment.
David Johnson
Founder, CEO, Creative Director
David Johnson is the Founder, CEO, and Creative Director of Undertone FX. With over 27 years in the industry and 24+ shipped titles—including Call of Duty, Halo, Star Wars, Mortal Kombat, Destiny, and Diablo—David is a two-time VES Award winner, VES Fellow, and co-founder of Real Time VFX.
