Join us on Thursday, May 23rd at the Dell Stage on Gnomon’s campus for a presentation and demo by Gio Nakpil, the Head of Visual Development, Worldwide Substance 3D Evangelism at Adobe.
Gio will share insights into his sculpting philosophy, the 'Hierarchy of Forms,' tailored specifically to highlight Adobe Substance 3D Modeler and Maxon's ZBrush. Attendees will learn about his sculpting methodology, gaining practical insights and techniques for enhancing their sculpting projects. Showcasing both VR and desktop workflows, Giovanni will explore his "Hierarchy of Forms" concept, distinguishing between primary, secondary, and tertiary forms as he demos in Substance 3D Modeler and ZBrush.
Our guest speaker will also share his journey into the industry, his work experience with Industrial Light & Magic, Valve, and Facebook, and showcase a selection of his favorite personal and professional projects, including Star Trek, The Avengers, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. This event offers a unique opportunity for those looking to understand the philosophical aspects of sculpting while also improving their practical skills and software proficiency.

Giovanni Nakpil is the Head of Visual Development, Worldwide Substance3D Evangelism. He is deeply influenced by the magic of sci-fi and horror films. His multidisciplinary interests have led him to explore a variety of roles across the United States. Such roles include Digital Model Supervisor at Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), 3D Artist at Valve, and Art Director at Facebook. During his time in tech, Gio took on the challenges of pioneering emerging consumer products for the world of virtual reality.
