Visual Effects Supervisor at Boxel Studio
Weverton Alves is a multi-talented visual effects supervisor and lead artist with a rich background in the computer graphics industry. His passion for technology and photorealistic renders has shaped his 12-year career, leading him to significant achievements and collaborations.
Starting his journey in the digital world, Alves honed his skills in various aspects of computer graphics. He has a strong foundation in tools such as Maya, Nuke, and Mental Ray, and is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, enhancing his ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
Alves' expertise was further recognized in 2019 when he received a VFX Leo nomination as a CG supervisor for the TV series “Blue Book”. This accolade marked a consolidation of his path as an influential supervisor and a skilled lead artist. Following this, in 2020, he served as the CG supervisor for the acclaimed superhero series “Superman and Lois” on HBO Plus. His remarkable work in this series opened doors for him to join Boxel Studios, one of the largest studios in Latin America.
At Boxel Studios, Alves made significant contributions by developing a powerful VFX and animation quality workflows, significantly enhancing the quality of assets and environments produced by the studio. His ability to integrate as a Latino leader, coupled with his multilingual skills, has been instrumental in guiding the Boxel team to deliver projects for prominent productions such as “John Wick 04", “Santa Clauses”, “Adventures of Blues Clues”, “Star Trek Picard S3”, “Pennyworth”, “Flaming Hot”, “Mosquito Coast”, and others.
