Best known for his Iron Man suit designs for the Marvel CinematicUniverse, Phil Saunders has been contributing his designs for characters, vehicles, environments and props to feature films from nearly every major studio since 2001. His involvement with Marvel began with the first Iron Man film and has continued through his current work on Avengers: Secret Wars.
As a freelancer, Phil’s produced credits also include work on the Tron sequels, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the Kingsman series, Blue Beetle and many other films including the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong: Supernova and Gundam. Phil also stays versatile by contributing illustration work to MarvelSnap and Hearthstone, as well as theme park design for companies such as Disney Imagineering.
His product design of innovative tablet/laptop for Asus/Republic of Gamers and streetwear brand Acronym was awarded a 2024 CES Innovation Award and iF Design Award. For the decade previous to his work in film, he was the creative director for computer game developer Presto Studios (Myst 3: Exile,) and an automotive and product designer for Nissan DesignInternational.
