VFX to Toys & Collectibles: A Creative Director's Journey

Join us on Thursday, February 24th for an evening with David Igo, Creative Director at Tweeterhead, a statue and collectibles company focusing on DC and Masters of the Universe! Tweeterhead’s collection of sculpted maquettes includes Superman, Skeletor, Joker, Flash, and many more. As Creative Director, David oversees the process of concepting, sculpting, and painting statue prototypes before they go into production.

During his presentation, David will discuss his journey as a professional artist, from studying VFX and 3D modeling for film and games to designing toys and statues. Like many artists, David went to school thinking he’d get a job doing one thing but accidentally stumbled into an entirely different creative field. He will share what it was like to make a significant career pivot and the challenges and successes along the way. Plus, viewers will get to see some of David’s incredible personal and professional work!

This live stream event will be an exciting opportunity for those interested in toy, statue, and collectible design (David will share stories from his time working at Gentle Giant Studios and Sideshow Collectibles) and artists curious about navigating career advancements in design, management, and art direction.

Head over to Tweeterhead and check out some of the incredible designs David worked on before our live stream event! And be sure to subscribe to our Twitch and YouTube channels to get a notification when we go live on Thursday, February 24th at 7:30 pm PST.
