Gnomon’s 2025 Student Gallery Show Welcomes Students, Alumni, and Industry Guests

Gnomon welcomed a vibrant crowd to campus last weekend for the opening reception of the 2025 Student Gallery Show.

Attendees included current students, instructors, and staff, gathering to view this year’s collection and celebrate the hard work and creativity of Gnomon’s student community. 

Curated by Gnomon founder Alex Alvarez, the 2025 show features a wide range of student work created in both full-time programs and individual courses. The exhibition includes 36 printed pieces, 23 unique video projects displayed on monitors, and two projections of the newly released 2025 Student Reel. The collection highlights skills across visual effects, hardsurface modeling, real-time character projects, immersive environments, cinematic storytelling, and much more.

The reception provided a chance for students to see their work displayed in a gallery setting—many for the first time—and to share that moment with their peers, instructors, family, and friends. 

”This event is incredibly meaningful for our students,” Executive Director of Student Affairs, Carmen Munoz, said. ”It’s not just a celebration of their work—it’s a chance to share their creativity and accomplishments with friends, family, and the larger community. There’s a strong sense of pride in having their work showcased in a professional gallery setting. You can feel how much the students uplift one another. There’s as much excitement about seeing their peers’ pieces as there is about presenting their own.”

The reception also brought the wider Gnomon community together, with industry professionals and alumni returning to support current students and see the latest student work.

“There was this beautiful energy in the room—students gathering in front of each other’s work, cheering one another on, asking questions, celebrating together,” Munoz added. “I saw a group of students surrounding a friend’s piece, just beaming with pride. Those little moments—smiles, thoughtful conversations—they remind us why we do what we do. It’s not just about showcasing work; it’s about building a community that lifts each other up.”
