Overview

The L.A. metro area is the country's leading artistic center, where one of every seven workers is employed in a creative industry. While Los Angeles is famous for its year-round idyllic weather, ethnic and cultural diversity, and sprawling metropolitan area, it’s the entertainment industry that attracts the world’s most talented artists and those who hope to join their ranks. The work of filmmaking, visual effects, animation, game design, and TV production happens here. The industry’s biggest names – Disney, Blizzard, DreamWorks, Riot, Nickelodeon, Netflix – reside in LA, miles or even yards from Gnomon’s classrooms.

L.A. is full of inspiring art and diverse cultural experiences, with more museums and theaters than any other city in the country.

Exploring the city, you’ll recognize many iconic locations from both film and TV, and be drawn in by the exciting creative spirit that binds its artistic community together.

    Housing

We understand that student housing can be an integral part of your college education. Learning and living in a diverse community of like-minded peers is a transformative experience that can prepare you for your career and a lifetime of making valuable connections. We recommend students begin to explore housing options several months before their expected move-in date. Please see our Housing & Visitor’s Guide for more information.

Many incoming students find value in connecting with their future classmates to share housing postings and find roommates via Gnomon’s Facebook Housing Page. To gain access to this group, please speak with an Admissions Representative.

    Transportation

While many Gnomon students choose to commute via car, those who don’t drive or live within walking distance of campus typically rely on rideshare or public transportation. Uber and Lyft are popular choices in Los Angeles, with many students budgeting in some funds for safe rides to and from campus, especially for late-night classes.

More of a public transportation person? Explore LA’s public transportation network, which includes subways, light rail, buses, and shuttles to nearly every corner of the Greater Los Angeles area. The city’s six fast, easy-to-use, and environmentally friendly rail lines offer visitors a desirable and efficient way of getting from one destination to the next.
